How we look after your details.
A wedding invitation collects personal things: your names, your plans, your guests’ answers. Here is, in plain words, what we keep, who sees it, where it is stored and for how long.
Last updated November 2026.
What we keep
- The couple’s details. Your names, the date, the venues and the programme, the way to reach you, your story, and any gift details you choose to add.
- Guest replies. Each guest’s name, whether they are coming, how many, any dietary notes, and any message they leave for you. A dietary note is only passed on when the guest ticks the box that says it may be shared with the couple and their caterer.
The invitations keep one small setting on each guest’s own phone: whether they turned the music off. While you fill in your details, your own phone or computer keeps a copy of what you type until it is saved, so nothing is lost if the connection drops.
Who sees it
The replies and the details behind an invitation are seen only by the couple, by their planner if the invitation was set up through one, and by us, so we can set it up and help when something needs changing.
The invitation itself can be opened by anyone who has its link, so it shows only what you put on it for your guests. Guests never see each other’s replies.
We do not sell any of it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
Your details and the replies are kept with Supabase, in its data centre in the European Union (Ireland). Every night a backup copy is made and kept for 90 days in a private GitHub account, so nothing can be lost by accident. The invitation pages and this website are served by Netlify.
How long we keep it
Until the couple asks us to delete it, and never longer than 12 months after the wedding. After that, the invitation and the replies are deleted, and the backup copies that still hold them expire within 90 days.
Deleting or correcting it
Write to info@santoriniinvitations.com and tell us which invitation it is about. We will delete or correct what you ask and confirm by email. Guests can ask the couple, or write to us directly, to have their reply removed.
Questions
Anything else about your details, write to info@santoriniinvitations.com and a real person will answer. The terms that go with this note are on our terms page.
